One Life on Earth

Each of us lives only one life on this earth. You have never lived another life on earth as a human, as an animal, or in any other form.

Zechariah wrote of “...the Lord, who stretches out the heavens, lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him” (Zech. 12:1). Your spirit did not exist before your flesh began within your mother’s womb. Your flesh began first, at conception. Afterwards, God formed your spirit within your flesh.

God also reveals that “...it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment” (Heb. 9:27). We do not live and die again and again on this earth. We live and die only once on earth. At the end of the world, all people will be raised to life, judged, and sent to their eternal reward or punishment (Jn. 5:28-29; Matt. 25:31-46; Acts 17:30-31; Rom. 2:16; 14:10-12; 2 Cor. 5:10; 2 Pet. 2:9; Rev. 20:11-15; 21:1-4, 27).

The life you are now living is the only time you will have on this planet. Each moment is a gift from God. It is your only opportunity to decide whether you will reject God, the source of all life and blessings — or accept His grace by obeying the gospel, serve Him, and live with Him forever. Be wise. Choose to live with God in heaven forever!
